AAPL Membership Renewals Are Open
Renew or join the essential community for land professionals to enjoy your benefits through June 2025
For 69 years, the American Association of Professional Landmen has been the catalyst for advancing the interests of all land professionals. AAPL is committed to serving members through education, legislative advocacy, professional publications, professional certification and so much more.
We are proud of the impact we've made in the industry over the past twelve months. Passed in May 2023, the AAPL-sponsored Texas landman bill ensures AAPL members receive the same employment treatment, tax benefits and unauthorized practice of law protections for work performed in renewables and other energy sources, in addition to the existing protections for AAPL members working in oil and gas. Our advocacy and legal team is diligently working to expand protections like these to other states and is looking to score more big wins this important election year. In fact, our advocacy team is currently tracking 569 total bills and has provided over 450 total pages of Governmental Affairs Reports and Bill Tracking Summaries this past membership year!
In addition to strengthening our relationships with our Corporate Membership Partners, Affiliated Local Associations and Accredited University Programs, the recent creation of our Alliance Partners Program has helped AAPL spread awareness of the land profession, advocate for the entire energy industry, recruit young professionals and create evolving, effective programs and services. These key industry allies allow AAPL to offer all our must-have member benefits at excellent value.
We're excited for what's to come in the 2024-25 membership year! The sold-out inaugural Women in Energy Institute in 2023 was a resounding success and will return Oct. 15 in Houston with a reception held the evening of Oct. 14. A brand new Energy Institute — the Oklahoma Energy Institute — will debut on Dec. 2 in Oklahoma City. The positive momentum from our sold-out 2024 Annual Meeting will carry over to our 2025 Annual Meeting next June in the Heart of America, Kansas City. An updated compensation survey report will be released this summer and our Landman magazine will continue to be the premier journal of the energy land management profession. We will continue to fine-tune all of our exclusive benefits and develop other exciting new offerings.
Now more than ever, the industry needs skilled energy professionals like you, and AAPL is here to help you access the specific tools you need to lead through the challenges ahead. Thank you for your membership and your part in building the essential community for land professionals.
Sincerely,
Brooks Yates, CPL, 2023-24 AAPL President
Michael A. Pisciotte, CPL, 2023-24 AAPL Membership Committee Chair
