Student Membership
Student Members receive full membership benefits with the exception of voting in AAPL affairs, serving as an officer or director and sponsoring new membership applications.

Student Membership is FREE to those students who are enrolled in one of AAPL’s accredited programs thanks to the LST.
Scholarship Information
Since its inception, the Landman Scholarship Trust has awarded over $2 million in student scholarships. Each year the LST awards cash scholarships to qualified and deserving undergraduate and graduate AAPL Student Members from colleges or universities, which offer an active and accredited curriculum in Natural Resources Management or similar curriculum who wish to further their training in professional land work, Natural Resources Management or associated occupations.
Outstanding Graduate Award
The LST encourages all students to excel in their educational endeavors. To further this mission, the LST recognizes an Outstanding Graduate each year from among the graduates of AAPL’s accredited college or university programs who is pursuing a career as a landman and has demonstrated great leadership in their work, extracurricular activities and their student landmen’s association.
Student Scholarship Application
Applications for student scholarships and the Outstanding Graduate Award are accepted each year.
The application deadline for the Outstanding Graduate Award is January 11. The application deadline for student scholarships is February 1.

AAPL’s Mentorship Program reflects AAPL’s commitment to professional development. This unique online networking and career development tool helps members find, connect and share experiences with others. A mentor or mentee can be located in the same city or on the other side of the world.

Certification Program Fast Track
Students who graduate from accredited programs are eligible to begin their certification journey at a faster rate. Recognized throughout the industry as indicators of competency, proficiency and professionalism, AAPL offers three certifications proven to enhance a member’s credibility in the industry and to increase earning potential for landmen. Recent compensation survey results indicate certified individuals earn more than those without certification.
